Artist or Not – Art Fun and Learning for 2014

There’s a new YouTube channel with a new show coming next year called The Art Assignment. I know, you don’t want another “Homework Assignment,” but this is different because you don’t have to do it – you GET to do it! It’s up to you!

Every week they interview an artist from around the country who will give you a new assignment. It could be anything from sculpture to film. And don’t forget, you don’t have to be good at something to try it and have fun with it. I’m not very good at film, but I’ll try it anyway. Who knows, maybe I’m better than I think.

Since this is a “general audience” show, make sure to have your parents preview each episode to make sure it’s good (unless you are the parent, then you can preview it for yourself 😉 ) and then they can help you with the assignment!

I can’t wait to see what kind of assignments they give and to try out a new art form! In fact, while I’m waiting I might do the “possible assignments” they mention.

Chibi Agent Ambrosia

Hi! I’m Agent Ambrosia!

I’m a superhuman. That means I have superpowers like a superhero. That’s why I’m flying in this picture. I’m also super strong, I can read minds (only when I want to) and I can swim through rocks. 😉

I didn’t want to be a superhero like most of the people in my family, so I work at a private investigator firm called Fruit Salad Agency. We mostly fight a bad guy called Cholesterol and his gang, but we investigate all sorts of cases – like why Mrs. Bittle’s cat keeps getting stuck in trees (I think it’s cause it is running away from Mr. Grundle’s dog, but she thinks it’s cause her cat is trying to contact aliens).

[And now a word from the artist: I’ve written an entire comic strip about the adventures of Agent Ambrosia and the Fruit Salad Agency, so one day I hope this will be just the beginning. In the meantime, since I modeled her after myself I like to use her as my avatar in several places.]
